Meet Our Governors

School Governors have an important role to play in helping to maintain and develop our children’s education.

Our Federated Governing Body covers both Halfway Nursery Infant and Junior School and play an essential role in the leadership and strategic direction of the Federation.

They are elected from a cross-section of our community and work hard to ensure they  hold the school leadership team to account by meeting formally every half term.

The governing body provides strategic leadership and accountability in schools. It has three key functions:

  1. Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent
  2. Holding the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils
  3. Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction

Both Halfway schools operate an open-door policy. We believe that if you have a comment, concern or question the school are best placed to respond to them. However, there may be times when you may wish to have a chat with a Governor. If this is the case, then please contact the school office who will be able to put you in touch with the relevant person.

Our Governors are listed below with information according to the statutory guidance and guidelines published by the Department of Education.
